URBAN Arts District
Continued from page 17 New to the neighborhood is the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (mocacleveland.org), whose new building opened in fall 2012-and is a work of art in itself. A double-take-inducing black glass behemoth rising out of the corner of Euclid Avenue and Mayfield Road, the new MOCA has few right angles, a visual metaphor for the envelope-pushing installations you'll explore within its walls. With no permanent collection, MOCA ensures each visit provides something new to behold.

The Cleveland Botanical Garden (cbgardens.org) offers lush landscapes and flowers year-round. In spring and summer you can stroll through the rolling outdoor gardens but the spectacular Glasshouse is a great venue during the cold winter months. Inside is a reproduction desert and rain forest, where tropical flowers, birds and butterflies delight even as the snow is falling outside.
Severance Hall is the home of the Cleveland Orchestra (clevelandorchestra.com), considered one of the top orchestras in the world. The hall itself is a visually and acoustically magnificent landmark, but you can enjoy a performance in a variety of venues-from the outdoor splendor of its summer residency at Blossom to the free annual concert in Public Square around Independence Day to one of its neighborhood outreach activities (you might be lucky to find its musicians classing up a bowling alley bar, for instance).
CLOCKWISE: Greenhouse Tavern, Market Garden Brewery, Debonne Vineyards, Great Lakes Brewing Co.

WINE COUNTRY
Ohio wine? Yeah, it exists-and it's good. Among the region's specialties is ice wine, a dessert wine that takes advantage of our disadvantageous winters freezing grapes on the vine. Ashtabula County's Ferrante Winery (ferrantewinery.com) boasts a restaurant and outdoor patio, which is perfect for a summer bottle of wine while musicians serenade you. Debonné Vineyards (debonne.com) in Madison programs a variety of events to complement its award-winning varietals. And head west to Sandusky, where you'll find one of the oldest wineries in Ohio, Firelands
(firelandswinery.com).

If sugar is your obsession/addiction, Northeast Ohio has your carb fix. The oldfashioned soda fountain at Sweet Moses (sweetmosestreats.com) (named for the founder of Cleveland) offers hand-dipped treats that attract lines out the door of its Gordon Square storefront. In Tremont, Lilly Handmade Chocolates (lillytremont.com) are works of art even before they hit your mouth. Nearby, A Cookie and a Cupcake (acookieandacupcake.com) will satisfy any dessert craving. Travel to Strongsville or Brecksville to sample Lemonberry Frozen Yogurt (lemonberryfrozenyogurt.com) the popular local mini-chain.
